Job summary

RethinkFirst, a leader in behavioral health technology, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the accounting and finance team reporting to the Controller. This remote-friendly role supports day-to-day accounting, month-end close, and internal controls.

You will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, collaborate with auditors, and ensure GAAP compliance while maintaining clear communication with senior management. A 2–3 year accounting background and strong Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance and 2–3 years of accounting experience.
• Proficient in Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to multitask.
• Ability to work independently and meet deliverables.
• Ability to prioritize conflicting demands and communicate progress.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior management.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist the month-end close process, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines are met for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors by providing requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP standards
