Job summary

SMA America is seeking a Territory Sales Manager to grow market share in the Southwest region, covering Southern California, Arizona and Hawaii. The role is remote and field based, requiring travel across the territory and to the mainland U.S. and internationally.

You will build distributor relationships, target installers, and promote SMA PV and storage products. Candidates should have 2+ years in solar sales or related fields, be based in the LA/Phx/SD area, and possess strong communication,

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of sales, account management or channel experience in solar, energy storage or PV equipment.
• Current residence in the Phoenix, Los Angeles or San Diego metropolitan area.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel frequently across the territory, including periodic travel to Hawaii.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with all Authorized Distributors within the assigned territory.
• Identify market opportunities across the territory and develop strategies to grow SMA’s share in those markets.
• Prospect for and target solar and energy storage installers alongside our distributor partners.
• Increase SMA sales by building relationships with key installers and promoting SMA products through distributor partners.
• Represent SMA at residential and commercial PV and storage conferences and trade shows.
• Meet with distributor partners and installers to discuss SMA benefits and convert customers.
• Serve as an SMA advocate and provide outstanding customer support.
