Job summary

TruNorth Solar is seeking a motivated Business Development Consultant to guide residential and commercial clients from first contact to signed agreement. This consultative, technical sale role teaches you solar and storage systems, financing, and incentives while supporting a flexible, remote-friendly schedule.

Based in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metro area or Greater Minnesota, you will collaborate with internal engineering and project teams to tailor proposals and close deals with integrity

Qualifications

• Prior technical sales experience is required.
• Able to sell both residential and commercial projects.
• Comfort in learning technical concepts like energy and rates.
• Honesty and integrity are essential to our reputation.
• Self-motivated and organized with flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Network in the community, primarily with business owners and their employees.
• Meet with homeowners, business owners, farmers, property managers, and decision-makers.
• Analyze utility bills and usage data with our design team for sizing and proposals.
• Explain solar/storage economics, financing, tax credits, and programs clearly.
• Manage longer commercial sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
• Present products from partners like Tesla, Enphase, Mission Solar.
• Hand off signed projects to our project management team for permitting and installation.
• Keep your pipeline organized and updated in our CRM.
