Job summary
SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Software QA and Support Engineer to join our Software Engineering Team. The role focuses on testing our custom software for utility-scale solar, data monitoring, analytics, and reporting, with opportunities to advance automation and process improvements.
The position offers remote work or hybrid work with regular presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, Oregon. You will collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure high-quality software and user support.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of software QA testing.
- Experience writing automated tests for TypeScript or Python codebases.
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Master testing of our custom software system features and integrations.
- Prioritize and manage testing using Jira and release timelines.
- Coordinate with developers and product team for feature behavior.
- Perform functional, regression, negative, and ad-hoc testing.
- Create comprehensive test cases for functional scenarios.
- Explore automation opportunities using AI and tooling.
- Maintain local test environments and Git/GitHub basics.
- Provide second-tier support and report bugs clearly in Jira.
- Monitor support channels and document ticket histories.
- Identify recurring issues and propose root-cause fixes.
