SOLV Energy is seeking a Software QA and Support Engineer to join our Software Engineering Team to ensure we deliver high-quality software for our internal customers. The role supports our custom software for utility-scale construction management, data monitoring, analytics, and reporting.

It can be fully remote, or hybrid with regular office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, Oregon. Responsibilities include understanding system features, coordinating testing, writing test cases, and driving

Qualifications

• Experience testing software applications, identifying bugs, validating features against product requirements.
• 5+ years of software QA testing.
• Experience writing automated tests for TypeScript or Python code bases.

Responsibilities

• Achieve an expert level understanding of our custom software system features and integrations.
• Prioritize and manage testing work independently using Jira, team tools, and release timelines.
• Build understanding of feature behavior through coordination with developers and product team members.
• Coordinate functional, regression, negative, and ad-hoc testing with the QA team.
• Write comprehensive test cases for functional scenarios.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing through automation and AI.
• Develop test environment proficiency including basic Git/GitHub usage.
• Provide insights to support continuous process and product improvement.
• Serve as first point of contact and 2nd-tier support for our software; escalate with reproducible bug reports.
