Job summary

Kobie is a remote-first technology leader in loyalty solutions. The Manager of Software Engineering will lead Agile squads, translate business needs into robust technical solutions, and drive end-to-end delivery of software initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of software development experience with at least 2 years in engineering leadership.
• Proven experience leading Agile development teams delivering production-grade software systems.
• Hands-on expertise in modern backend and frontend technologies (Java, Spring, Angular) and testing methodologies.
• Strong understanding of modern Java architecture including event-driven design, Kafka, pub/sub, and scalable microservices.
• Experience running production workloads in cloud-based, containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
• Demonstrated ability to define and evolve CI/CD strategies and infrastructure for automated deployments.
• Knowledge of test automation strategies and frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, Rest Assured, Postman, SoapUI, BDD).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more Agile development squads delivering scalable platform capabilities and client solutions.
• Partner with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and teams to translate business needs into technical designs.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives with high quality and predictable outcomes.
• Mentor engineers and support career growth and accountability.
• Contribute to design and development of modern distributed systems and microservices.
