Job summary

Sprezzatura Management Consulting seeks a Software Development Manager to lead the development of a modernized financial and budget application for the VA. This remote US-based role requires technical leadership across Agile teams, risk management, and client-facing collaboration with VA stakeholders.

You will mentor engineers, drive CI/CD, APIs, data integration, and SaaS/AI-enabled capabilities while ensuring security, accessibility, and alignment with PPBE processes and enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in CS/IT/Engineering.
• 10+ years in software development, systems engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• 4+ years leading software development teams or enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, architecture, and enterprise integration.
• Experience with APIs, system interfaces, data integration, or ETL processes.
• Experience collaborating with technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and Jira/Azure DevOps.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to engage with customers and translate requirements into solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day software development across multiple Agile workstreams.
• Mentor developers and integration engineers; promote CI/CD and code quality.
• Monitor progress and address delays, risks, and resource constraints.
• Escalate risks and coordinate mitigation with leadership.
• Collaborate with PM, Scrum Master, and leads to manage dependencies.
• Guide technical direction of VIPPS and integration with VA systems.
• Serve as client-facing technical representative in VA meetings and reviews.
• Support testing, defect resolution, and release readiness with VA standards.
