Job summary

Sprezzatura in the United States is seeking a Software Development Manager to provide technical leadership for a modernized financial and budget application for the VA. You will bridge VA business operations, legacy systems, and the implementation team, translating PPBE rules into actionable solutions.

This is a remote role with client-facing responsibilities and opportunities to drive SaaS and AI-enabled capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a technical field.
• 10+ years in software development or systems engineering.
• 4+ years leading software development teams or enterprise projects.
• Experience with APIs, data integration, or ETL processes.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and collaborating with business stakeholders.
• Ability to engage customers and clarify requirements for solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day software development across multiple Agile workstreams.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and oversight to teams.
• Monitor progress, identify delays, and implement corrective actions.
• Elevate risks to leadership and coordinate mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with PMs, Scrum Masters, and leads on dependencies.
• Help drive VIPPS technical direction aligning with requirements.
• Translate PPBE processes and business rules into technical solutions.
• Guide APIs, data interfaces, and ETL processes for VA integration.
• Incorporate SaaS capabilities and AI-enabled analytics where appropriate.
• Represent technical perspectives in VA meetings and demos.
• Support testing, release readiness, and compliance standards.
