Job summary

Sprezzatura is seeking an experienced Integration/API Software Engineer to support a modernized federal financial and budget system. You will design, develop, test, and support APIs and integrations, collaborating with platform, data, and testing teams to ensure secure data exchange across legacy and modern apps.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in backend/API development, strong Java/.NET/Python skills, and experience with OpenAPI, OAuth, and data mappings. This remote U.S.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development or systems integration experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and supporting RESTful APIs and enterprise system integrations.
• Experience with Java, C#/.NET, Python, or comparable backend technologies.
• Experience with JSON, XML, REST, HTTP/HTTPS, and API specifications such as OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Experience with authentication/authorization approaches (OAuth 2.0, tokens, certificates).
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, data mapping, transformation, and reconciliation.
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
• Experience developing or executing automated API/integration tests.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain RESTful APIs and system integrations.
• Analyze interfaces, data structures, and dependencies to support modernization.
• Develop API contracts, interface specs, data mappings, and transformations.
• Develop secure, reusable integration components using appropriate languages and patterns.
• Implement authentication, validation, error handling, logging, and retries for reliability.
• Collaborate with OneStream developers and data resources to exchange data with the platform.
• Support data validation, reconciliation, control totals, and exception processing.
• Develop and run automated API/integration tests and assist with end-to-end testing.
• Troubleshoot interface, API, data, and performance issues; assist root-cause analysis.
