Job summary

Sprezzatura Management Consulting, LLC is seeking a Software Development Manager to provide technical leadership for a modernized VA financial and budget application. You will bridge business operations with the technical team, guiding SaaS and AI-enabled capabilities and serving as a client-facing representative.

You will lead multiple Agile workstreams, mentor engineers, manage risks, and ensure delivery milestones align with program priorities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software development, systems engineering, or related technical disciplines.
• 4+ years demonstrated experience leading software development teams, technical projects, or enterprise application implementations.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, application architecture, and enterprise integration methodologies.
• Experience with APIs, system interfaces, data integration, or ETL processes.
• Experience collaborating with technical teams and business stakeholders to implement solutions for complex requirements.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and collaborative development practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to engage directly with customers, communicate technical information, and support requirements clarification and solution discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee day-to-day software development activities across multiple Agile workstreams.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and oversight to developers and integration engineers.
• Monitor development progress and implement corrective actions to maintain momentum.
• Identify and elevate development risks and issues to leadership with mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with program management to manage dependencies and recovery plans when at risk.
• Help establish and drive the technical direction of VIPPS and ensure alignment with requirements.
• Serve as a client-facing technical representative in VA meetings and demonstrations.
• Support troubleshooting, defect resolution, and release readiness while adhering to standards.
