Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Social Support Coordinator to provide remote assistance to individuals and families, connecting clients with essential services and guiding them through applications. This contract role offers flexible remote work across South Africa, with a strong emphasis on compassionate communication and meticulous record-keeping.

The role requires a Diploma or Certificate in Social Work or related field, remote communication skills, and the ability to manage a caseload

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Social Work, Social Auxiliary Work, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a social support, case management, or counseling role is preferred.
• Strong understanding of social welfare services and resources available in South Africa.
• Excellent remote communication skills (phone, email, video conferencing) and active listening abilities.
• Proficiency with digital tools, online platforms, and basic computer applications.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct remote needs assessments to understand client circumstances and support requirements.
• Provide information and referrals to relevant social services, including housing, food assistance, and healthcare.
• Assist clients in navigating application processes for various support programs.
• Offer emotional support and encouragement to clients facing challenging situations.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records using our digital case management system.
• Collaborate with partner organizations and service providers to facilitate client access to resources.
