Job summary

Peraton is seeking a SOC Analyst to join our Department of State IT Operations program. You will monitor security alerts, conduct threat hunting, and support incident response for mission-critical systems worldwide.

The role requires 3+ years in cybersecurity, SIEM experience, a U.S. citizenship, and an active SECRET clearance. Remote work is available with occasional onsite meetings in the Washington, DC area or Sterling, VA as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of cybersecurity experience in federal government environments.
• Experience with SIEM tools like Splunk and monitoring dashboards.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, network protocols, and threat intelligence.
• Familiarity with RMF and NIST standards is a plus.
• Active SECRET clearance is required; U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and perform threat hunting across critical systems.
• Analyze network traffic and log data to identify anomalies and risks.
• Develop SPL queries and refine Splunk dashboards for monitoring.
• Coordinate investigations with internal teams and external partners.
• Document findings and support incident response activities.
