Job summary

SMX is seeking a Mid-Level Site Reliability Engineer to architect, automate, and operate high-performance cloud infrastructure for AI/ML platforms. You will bridge MLOps and DevSecOps, deploying scalable cloud architectures across commercial, private, hybrid, and government clouds.

Fully remote in the United States, you will be a customer-facing SME, guiding solutions, scoping engagements, and delivering reference architectures and runbooks. 3–5 years in SRE/DevOps/Platform roles are expected.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in SRE/DevOps or Platform Engineering.
• Experience with Kubernetes in cloud environments and RBAC/secrets management.
• Proficient in IaC using Terraform and Git-based workflows.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Automation scripting in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with security baselines (CIS/NIST/FedRAMP).

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain highly available Kubernetes clusters for AI/ML workloads.
• Act as Technical SME in client engagements and support scoping.
• Collaborate with delivery and security teams on modern AI/ML architectures.
• Automate infrastructure with Terraform and GitOps, with security guardrails.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with container security scans and audit logging.
