Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking a part-time, remote Sign Language Interpreter (1099 contractor) to support D/HH students in virtual instruction.

The role requires interpreting or transliterating live content in alignment with each student’s IEP. The interpreter will collaborate with teachers and caregivers, attend IEP meetings, and provide expressive interpretation of classroom content while adhering to professional ethics and standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience interpreting in educational environment.
• Minimum 1 year experience providing interpreting services virtually.
• National Interpreter Certification issued by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and/or State specific educational interpreter licensure.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and transliterate live, synchronous virtual instruction per students' IEPs.
• Adapt language and materials to meet diverse student needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, caregivers, and service providers to support IEP goals.
• Attend IEP meetings and participate as an IEP team member.
• Provide expressive and voice interpretation of classroom instruction and assist with materials as needed.
• Support activities outside the virtual classroom as required.
• Maintain professional standards per NAD CDP guidelines.
