Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking a part-time Sign Language Interpreter (contractor) to support D/HH students in a virtual academic environment.

The interpreter will translate and caption content, collaborate with teachers, and participate in IEP meetings while maintaining professional standards. Must have active RID certification, ASL proficiency, and ability to work 20 hours per week, with a reliable home office setup and availability during typical school hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience interpreting in educational environment.
• Minimum 1 year experience providing interpreting services virtually.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and transliterate content in live, synchronous virtual academic settings as per IEPs.
• Adapt language to meet individual needs of students with hearing loss.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure services align with IEPs.
• Attend IEP meetings as part of the team.
• Provide interpretation for school activities outside the virtual classroom.
