Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking a dedicated STAGES Sign Language Interpreter to support D/HH students in a remote, part-time contractor role.

The interpreter will translate live virtual instruction, participate in IEP-driven planning, and collaborate with educators, caregivers, and related service providers across multiple schools. National availability and current NIC certification or state licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience interpreting in educational environment.
• Minimum 1 year experience providing interpreting services virtually.
• National Interpreter Certification (NIC) or state educational interpreter licensure.
• Availability during typical school hours of at least 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and transliterate content in live, synchronous virtual classes as per IEPs.
• Collaborate with teachers, caregivers, and service providers to ensure IEP compliance.
• Attend IEP meetings and participate as a member of the support team.
• Provide expressive and voice interpretation of classroom instruction and support in small groups or one-on-one.
• Interpret for activities outside the virtual classroom, including meetings with caregivers.
