Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking a part-time Sign Language Interpreter (contractor) to interpret or transliterate all academic content for students who are D/HH in a virtual environment.

The role requires a National Interpreter Certification and experience in educational settings, with the ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor for up to 20 hours per week, largely remote from a home office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience interpreting in educational environment.
• Minimum 1 year experience providing interpreting services virtually.
• National Interpreter Certification issued by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and/or State specific educational interpreter licensure.
• Ability to work independently, with availability during typical school hours of at least 20 hours per week is required.
• MS365 Proficient.
• Ability to clear required background check.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and transliterate live, synchronous virtual instruction per IEPs.
• Adapt language and materials to meet individual students' needs.
• Collaborate with school staff to share progress and ensure services align with IEPs.
• Attend IEP meetings as part of the IEP team.
• Provide interpretation for activities outside virtual classroom, including meetings with caregivers.
