Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a ServiceNow Lead Developer to guide design, development, and integration of enterprise ServiceNow solutions. You will provide technical leadership, ensure platform governance, and drive best practices across ITSM, CMDB, CSDM, ITOM, ITAM/HAM, CSM, and HRSD.

The role requires hands-on expertise in JavaScript, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub, with a focus on delivering scalable, enterprise-wide outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development and administration experience.
• 2+ years of experience leading ServiceNow development teams or projects.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript, Glide API, Service Portal, App Engine, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub.
• Proven experience with ITSM, CMDB, and CSDM.
• Hands-on experience with at least two additional ServiceNow modules such as ITOM, ITAM/HAM, CSM, HRSD, SPM, or SecOps.
• Experience designing and implementing REST/SOAP integrations and MID Server configurations.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and ITIL processes.
• Experience with ServiceNow upgrades, release management, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead ServiceNow development activities, including design reviews, code reviews, and deployment planning.
• Design and develop solutions leveraging ServiceNow platform capabilities, including ITSM, CMDB, CSDM, ITOM, ITAM/HAM, CSM, and HRSD.
• Develop and optimize Client Scripts, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, and Flow Designer workflows.
• Architect and implement integrations using Integration Hub, REST APIs, SOAP services, and MID Servers.
• Establish and maintain CMDB governance, Discovery schedules, data reconciliation rules, and CSDM alignment.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and product owners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Support platform upgrades, release management activities, and Automated Test Framework (ATF) implementation.
• Provide technical mentoring and guidance to developers, administrators, and support teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Ensure adherence to ServiceNow development standards and best practices.
