Job summary

GE Appliances is seeking a Senior Product Service Specialist – Water Heaters for a remote role in the US (Central or Eastern Time Zone). You will serve as a technical resource for heat pump, gas, and electric water heaters, guiding service teams, and translating field feedback into actionable product improvements.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision on complex technical issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant field service, technical product support, or related technical discipline.
• Experience with water heater products (heat pump, gas, or electric) preferred.
• Ability to diagnose technical product issues and provide practical guidance.
• Experience reading installation instructions, service manuals, schematics, or wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource for customers and partners on installation, operation, troubleshooting, and service questions for water heaters.
• Provide technical product support for applications, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and issue escalation.
• Coordinate with engineering, quality, and service teams to resolve field issues and improve serviceability.
• Lead in-field investigations, identify issue patterns, and recommend corrective actions.
• Represent the service perspective in new product introductions and product changes to improve serviceability.
• Assist with on-site or virtual technical training and troubleshooting for customers.
• Review and update installation instructions, service literature, and troubleshooting guides.
