Job summary

SCI Summit Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced underwriter to lead evaluation and underwriting of new and renewal business. You will develop risk assessment models, support pricing and terms decisions, and build strong partnerships with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients.

The role requires deep underwriting expertise, durable regulatory knowledge, and the ability to coach staff while driving profitable growth across the assigned portfolio.

Qualifications

• Minimum 13 years of underwriting experience or related field.
• Professional designation such as AU, CPCU, CIC, INS or ARM desired.
• Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead evaluation and underwriting of new and renewal business in line with guidelines.
• Develop and use advanced risk assessment models for coverage, pricing, and terms.
• Foster partnerships with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients for information and guidance.
• Review reports and screenings to support underwriting decisions.
• Document underwriting decisions and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate complex renewals and modifications for improvements and risk mitigation.
• Communicate strategies and decisions to internal teams, agents, and brokers.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions.
• Maintain relationships with customers and drive profitable business.
• Coach staff and participate in talent decisions as needed.
