Job summary

SCI Summit Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced underwriting leader to evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business, aligning with guidelines and risk appetite. The role collaborates with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to gather information and guide coverage decisions.

The position requires strong risk assessment, documentation of decisions, knowledge of state and federal regulations, and the ability to mentor staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in risk underwriting.
• Minimum 13 years of underwriting or related field.
• Professional designations encouraged (AU, CPCU, CIC, ARM).

Responsibilities

• Leads evaluation and underwriting of new and renewal business.
• Develops and implements advanced risk assessment models.
• Fosters partnerships with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to obtain information and guide coverage.
• Ensures documentation of underwriting decisions and regulatory compliance.
• Evaluates complex renewals and modifications for risk mitigation.
• Travel occasionally; mentoring and staff involvement may occur.
