Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Transmission Planning Engineer to join the Electrical Studies, SCADA, and Protection (ESSP) team, based in Denver, CO, with consideration for Fort Worth, TX, and other locations. The role will involve delivering planning solutions, leading studies, and coordinating with clients to develop reliable energy infrastructure.

The successful candidate will perform transmission planning studies, develop models, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to business development

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• 7–10 years of direct experience in steady state contingency analysis and stability analysis of large power systems.
• Experience with PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission planning studies including power flow, contingencies, dynamics, and stability.
• Produce reports with study assumptions, findings, and recommendations.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of work from others.
• Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
• Support business development activities, including proposals and client meetings.
