Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic, fast-paced team solving challenging electric transmission problems. The role focuses on HV overhead and underground design from 46kV to 345kV for a major utility, using standards like NESC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC.

You will prepare bidding documents, plans and specifications, and procurement/construction packages, interface with clients and cross-functional teams, and travel as needed in Michigan and surrounding regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with at least four years of transmission design experience.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, ASCE standards; procurement processes and project schedules.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Strong communication with clients and project teams.
• Travel to client offices may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design HV transmission lines (46kV–345kV) for overhead and underground systems.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans and specifications, procurement, and construction packages.
• Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management.
• Apply applicable standards in engineering and design.
• Support a major electric utility project within Leidos team.
