Job summary

Leidos seeks a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to design high‑voltage transmission systems (46kV–345kV), applying NESC, ASCE and ACI standards. You will prepare bids, plans, specifications, and procurement/construction packages while coordinating with clients and cross‑functional teams.

Remote in Michigan with site visits and travel as needed. We expect a Civil Engineering degree and 4+ years of relevant experience in electric utility transmission design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and minimum of four (4) years of prior relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems.
• Experience in reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement process; project schedules; and construction work packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Ability to work effectively in team environment but also able to work independently.
• Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams.
• Work in client office is a possibility and/or periodic travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Design electric utility transmission systems for HV overhead and underground networks (46kV–345kV).
• Prepare bidding documents, plans & specifications, and procurement/construction packages.
• Interface with clients, planning, environmental, permitting, and construction teams.
• Apply standards (NESC/ASCE/ACI) to project design and analyses.
• Support program tools and produce project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Collaborate within a Leidos team and conduct site visits as needed.
