Job summary

Leidos seeks a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to work on electric transmission line design projects from 46kV to 345kV, including HV overhead and underground systems, on a fast-paced team.

The role applies NESC, ASCE, ACI standards, and involves drafting plans, bidding documents, and construction packages, with cross-functional collaboration and client interfacing.

Remote work is offered based in Michigan's Lower Peninsula with regular site visits; travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and minimum of four (4) years of prior relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems
• Experience in reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plan and profiles, and construction packages
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; material procurement process; project schedules; and construction work packages
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals
• Ability to work effectively in team environment but also able to work independently
• Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams
• Work in client office is a possibility and/or periodic travel may be required
• Program Expertise: PLS-CADD and POLE; LPILE or FAD Tools; Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Design electric utility transmission line projects (46kV–345kV) and support improvements
• Review designs, prepare bidding documents, draft plans and specifications
• Prepare material procurement and construction documents and interface with clients and project teams
• Collaborate with Leidos team and environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel
