Placements24 is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer for a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will lead thermal design for batteries and power electronics and develop validated CFD models to optimize cooling systems.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with heat transfer specialization.
• 8+ years of experience in thermal design and analysis.
• Strong CFD experience and ability to validate models.

Responsibilities

• Lead thermal design of batteries, power electronics and enclosures.
• Develop and validate thermal models using CFD tools (ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+).
• Design heat sinks, heat pipes, and cooling components.
• Conduct experiments and data analysis to verify simulations.
• Specify thermal interfaces and requirements for subsystems.
• Collaborate with ME, EE, and systems teams for integrated solutions.
• Prepare technical reports and design documentation.
