About the Role

Our client, WhatJobs Direct, is expanding its engineering capabilities and seeking a highly accomplished Senior Thermal Systems Engineer. This critical role is designed to be fully remote, allowing top talent to contribute from anywhere. You will be at the forefront of designing, analyzing, and validating advanced thermal management systems for a variety of demanding applications. This includes heat exchangers, cooling systems, and thermal fluid dynamics applications. As a remote-first position, you must possess exceptional self-management skills, a proactive approach to communication, and a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a virtual team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring optimal thermal performance and efficiency of our client's products, from conceptual design through to production. We are looking for an individual with deep expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop thermal management solutions, including heat sinks, cooling systems, and fluid circuits.


• Perform detailed thermal analysis using analytical methods and CFD simulation software.


• Specify and select thermal components, materials, and fluids.


• Develop test plans and oversee thermal performance testing and validation.


• Analyze test data, interpret results, and recommend design optimizations.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, systems engineers) in a remote setting.


• Generate technical documentation, including design reports, analysis summaries, and specifications.


• Mentor junior engineers in the field of thermal engineering.


• Stay current with advancements in heat transfer technologies and simulation techniques.


• Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and cost targets.


• Troubleshoot thermal-related issues in prototypes and production units.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Thermodynamics or Heat Transfer.


• Minimum of 8 years of experience in thermal system design and analysis.


• Expert proficiency in thermal analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, COMSOL).


• Strong understanding of heat transfer principles, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.


• Experience with CAD software for component design and integration.


• Proven ability to work independently and manage project timelines effectively in a remote environment.


• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for virtual teamwork.


• Experience with thermal testing methodologies and equipment.
