Job summary

Westinghouse is seeking a Project Engineer – Thermal Management for Utility Scale Energy Storage. The role covers design through commissioning on a 1-year contract, with remote or Juno Beach, FL work options. You will support BESS projects as a technical resource across teams, driving improvements and standards.

You will report to the onsite manager and help maximize BESS performance while ensuring safety and compliance with relevant UL/NEC standards.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate design aspects of major components for utility-scale energy storage projects.
• Prepare technical scopes of work for thermal management studies and designs for contract documents.
• Support projects from conception through commissioning, including on-site commissioning activities.
• Provide engineering guidance to project teams and oversee external Engineers of Record.
• Collaborate with suppliers on equipment sizing, controls, technology compatibility, and integration.
• Partner with multi-disciplined teams on problem solving, system integration, and process improvement.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and track emerging technologies.
