Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a fully remote role focused on solar PV, battery storage, and grid integration in South Africa. You will design electrical systems, perform complex analyses, and guide projects from concept to commissioning.
The ideal candidate has 6+ years in renewables, strong power systems knowledge, and experience with PSS/E/ETAP/PVSyst. Pr Eng is a significant advantage; remote collaboration with teams and partners is essential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
- 6+ years in electrical design with renewables (solar PV, BESS).
- Experience with power system analysis software and grid codes.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for utility-scale renewable projects.
- Perform load flow, short-circuit, and grounding analyses.
- Develop single-line diagrams and interconnection studies.
- Support procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to standards.
- Coordinate with grid operators and equipment manufacturers.
