Job summary
Vantor is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, integrate, deploy, and sustain mission-focused systems across analytical workflows and data-intensive applications. You will translate user needs into technical requirements and collaborate with software engineers and data scientists to ensure secure, scalable operations.
The role requires US citizenship, Top Secret/DHS suitability, and 8+ years in systems engineering or related fields, with experience in cloud, containers, and CI/CD.
Qualifications
- US citizen
- Top Secret security clearance or DHS/CBP suitability
- Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, information systems, software engineering, or related technical field
- 8+ years demonstrated professional experience in systems engineering, software systems integration, technical architecture, requirements development, or mission system sustainment
- Experience translating mission, operational, and stakeholder needs into technical requirements, system designs, acceptance criteria, and implementation plans
- Working knowledge of modern software, data, and infrastructure concepts, including APIs, databases, cloud or cloud-like environments, containerization, and CI/CD workflows
- Experience supporting system integration, test planning, verification and validation, troubleshooting, and operational readiness activities
- Working knowledge of agile delivery practices and tools, such as Jira, Confluence, and GitLab
- Strong verbal, written, documentation, and organizational skills
- Willingness to work remotely or at a Vantor facility and communicate via video calls
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to design, integration, deployment, and sustainment of mission-focused systems
- Translate mission and user needs into technical requirements and deployment patterns
- Partner with software engineers and data scientists to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable operation
- Support API, data pipeline, infrastructure, and external integrations across domains
