Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) to help manage and optimize cloud-based production systems. The role emphasizes day-to-day operational support, fast problem resolution, and close collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams.

The candidate will handle system outages, maintain documentation, and ensure VA standards and security policies are followed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of systems engineering or related field, production environments preferred.
• Experience with cloud platforms and automation.
• Strong diagnostic and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level, day-to-day operational support of complex application cloud systems.
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data.
• Detect, isolate, document, report, and resolve system outages or problems.
• Accurately document problems in logging and discrepancy reporting tools.
• Work directly with the customer in day-to-day activities.
• Respond to user calls regarding hardware and software problems; escalate as needed.
• Communicate status of key problem statuses to users and senior management.
• Perform maintenance/installation of computing infrastructure.
• Maintain inventory of system assets.
• Ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies.
• Provide documentation, training, and additional duties as assigned.
