Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Senior Structural Engineer to lead design reviews and contribute to bid/construction packages for substation projects. The role emphasizes senior leadership, mentoring junior staff, and coordination with clients and staff.

The ideal candidate has a Civil/Structural background with 5+ years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of structural software, and the ability to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.

Qualifications

• Requires B.S. in Civil-Structural Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an MS with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• PE License preferred in CA, WA, OR or ability to obtain within 3–12 months.
• Experience with Word/Excel/PowerPoint and MATHCAD is required.
• Experience with structural design software including RISA 3D and STAAD.Pro is required.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation is required.
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills; ability to communicate with clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
• Perform design and review for structures and foundations under seismic loading.
• Develop bid/construction packages and mentor junior staff.
