Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Senior/Lead Structural Engineer to join the Power team. This role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the United States. You will supervise engineering groups, liaise with discipline leads, and drive design clarity for substations and power facilities.

The position requires 10+ years in structural engineering, a CA PE license, and strong software skills (STAAD, PLS-CADD, SFrame, RISA). Strong leadership and client-facing abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in structural engineering, with focus on structural steel and foundations for high voltage substations, transmission lines, and power facilities.
• Licensed professional engineer in California.
• Experience with overhead transmission lines and 115 kV+ systems.
• Background in heavy industrial structures and consulting engineering is desirable.
• Strong CAD/analysis software skills and team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Supervise groups of engineers and professionals in the Power sector on projects.
• Coordinate with discipline leads, PMs, vendors, and clients to prepare design drawings and clarifications.
• Maintain project timelines and track tasks and documents.
• Prepare and review design drawings, calculations, and procurement deliverables.
• Oversee procurement, supplier bid reviews, and technical submissions.
• Monitor project schedule and budgets and report status regularly.
