Job summary

Humana is seeking a Senior Storage Engineer to design, implement, and optimize enterprise backup and data protection across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The role leads strategic initiatives for cyber resilience and ransomware protection, leveraging IBM, Rubrik, and Commvault technologies.

The engineer will drive architecture, operational excellence, automation, and security hardening, ensuring recoverability and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of enterprise backup, storage, or data protection experience.
• 5+ years of experience with one or more enterprise backup platforms: IBM Storage Protect, IBM Storage Defender Data Protect, Commvault, Rubrik, Dell PPDM.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise backup and recovery architectures supporting critical business applications and infrastructure.
• Engineer scalable, resilient, and secure backup solutions across physical, virtual, cloud, SaaS, and containerized environments.
• Develop and maintain backup standards, recovery procedures, operational runbooks, and engineering documentation.
• Lead backup platform upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
• Establish and maintain recovery service levels, recovery objectives, and testing standards.
