Job summary

A leading consulting firm in the United States is hiring a Live-In Eating Disorder Recovery Coach to provide intensive, in-home coaching support. Ideal candidates should have a background in behavioral health, specifically in eating disorders. This position involves short-term assignments lasting 15–30 days with flexibility for time off in between. Qualifications

  • Masters in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or equivalent (Preferred).

Position Overview

Koplin Consulting believes life happens at home and it is the role of our coaches to meet clients where they are and help them build (or re-build) their best lives. Home is where our triggers are therefore our coaches assist clients in navigating these triggers in a positive and healthy way. The Live-In Eating Disorder Recovery Coach provides short-term, intensive, in-home support to clients navigating eating and mental health challenges. Assignments typically last 15–30 days, with scheduled time off provided between engagements. This role focuses on skill-building, routine development, emotional regulation, and supporting increased independence within the client’s home and community.

This position does not replace clinical treatment, therapy, psychiatry, or emergency services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide short-term, intensive in-home coaching support for clients during structured assignments (typically 15–30 days), with planned time off between assignments.
  • Support clients in proactively implementing meaningful changes in daily routines, home environment, and overall functioning. This may include meal support, meal planning and grocery shopping, as well as food exposure activities.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and family members regarding the coaching process, therapeutic approaches, and goal-oriented interventions.
  • Abide by meal plans given by RD (or medical team). If one is not given, modeling and creating consistency with meals to support healthier habits.
  • Abide by and reinforce skills from primary therapists or other treatment team members.
  • Motivate, encourage and hold boundaries with clients.
  • Assist clients in building sustainable routines, emotional regulation skills, coping strategies, and increasing independence within their home and community.
  • Support clients in pursuing educational, vocational, social, and independent living goals while addressing mental health–related barriers.
  • Assist clients in developing and maintaining healthy relationships, building a solid support network, and engaging in appropriate ongoing treatment and aftercare services.
  • Model confidence, emotional regulation, healthy communication, and appropriate boundaries to build trust and rapport.
  • Engage in community-based and real-world activities with clients to model life skills and appropriate use of coping strategies in different environments.
  • Provide calm, skilled support during periods of emotional distress or escalation, utilizing grounding and de-escalation techniques within the scope of the role.
  • Establish consistent check-in routines with family members and identified supports, as appropriate.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to communicate updates, concerns, and client progress.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communication in accordance with organizational policies and confidentiality standards.
Travel & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel nationwide and reside in a client’s home for the duration of an assignment.
  • Ability to engage in daily activities, community outings, and routine movement as required to support clients.
  • Ability to remain alert, present, and emotionally regulated in dynamic or high-stress environments.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Experience working with eating disorders and other co-occurring behavioral health disorders.
  • Experience working in residential treatment programs preferred
  • Exceptional communication, professionalism, adaptability, and ability to work independent in a discreet in-home environment
  • Willingness to travel
  • Valid Drivers License and ability to pass a background check and good MVR
Education/Experience
  • Masters in Counseling, Social Work, Family Therapy, or equivalent degree or experience (Preferred) OR Registered Dietician
  • Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Dietetics, or related behavioral health field (Required)
  • Minimum 2 years working with individuals diagnosed with Eating Disorders

This is a W-2, PRN (as-needed) position with assignments offered on a short-term, intensive basis. Compensation is competitive and based on relevant experience, education, and scope of assignment. While schedules vary, our coaches are able to earn the equivalent of a full-time annual income while working approximately 5–6 months per year, depending on availability and assignments accepted.

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Starting monthly pay reflects completion of a full 30-day assignment. Bonus opportunities are available for completing additional assignments.
