Job summary

Humana seeks a Senior Storage Engineer to design, implement, operate, and optimize enterprise backup and data protection across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments. You will mentor engineers and serve as an escalation point for complex backup, recovery, and cyber resilience challenges.

Responsibilities include architecture, capacity planning, automation (PowerShell, Python, REST), and collaboration with security, cloud, and application teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of enterprise backup, storage, or data protection experience.
• 5+ years of experience with one or more enterprise backup platforms: IBM Storage Protect, IBM Storage Defender Data Protect, Commvault, Rubrik, Dell PPDM.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise backup and recovery architectures supporting critical business applications and infrastructure.
• Engineer scalable, resilient, and secure backup solutions across physical, virtual, cloud, SaaS, and containerized environments.
• Develop and maintain backup standards, recovery procedures, operational runbooks, and engineering documentation.
• Lead backup platform upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
