Job summary

ServiceNow is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer in Security Data Platform. You will own core APIs, build scalable data pipelines, and integrate security data from SIEM, identity governance, and asset inventory.

You will mentor teams and drive architecture decisions while delivering production-grade platform services. You will collaborate across detection engineering, red/blue teams, and identity/asset management, shaping platform contracts and RFC processes.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production systems.
• Expert-level Python: data processing at scale, API development, and testing in production codebases.
• Hands-on Splunk experience: SPL, data onboarding, normalization, and API usage.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the platform's core APIs and services behind them.
• Build and run asynchronous data pipelines on a message bus with a schema registry.
• Integrate security data sources including SIEM and identity governance.
• Own platform workstreams from scoping through delivery with cross-team coordination.
• Write design proposals and review others' as part of RFC process.
• Review code, mentor engineers on partner teams, maintain usable documentation.
