Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Software Test Engineer for a fully remote role supporting Veterans Affairs. You will design and execute test plans, automate where feasible, and collaborate with developers and QA leads to ensure robust information systems.

The candidate should have strong skills in C#, Java, or Python, extensive automation experience, and a solid SDLC/Agile background. This is a US-based remote position with security requirements and a focus on quality across complex IT

Competenze

• Strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
• Proven track record on complex software projects with high-quality deliverables.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and SDLC.
• Proficiency in writing and executing test cases and plans.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN).
• Understanding of performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Knowledge of SQL for validating stored data.
• Experience testing web apps, APIs, and services.
• Understanding security testing practices.
• Experience with multiple testing types (functional, regression, integration, system, usability, UAT).
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
