Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC (SSG) is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer for a remote role supporting the Veterans Affairs (VA).

The position requires strong programming skills (C#, Java, Python) and extensive manual and automated testing experience within an Agile/SDLC framework, plus familiarity with test automation tools and CI/CD practices. U.S. citizenship and Public Trust clearance are noted.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
• Proven track record on complex software projects and high-quality deliverables.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC understanding.
• Familiar with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, QTP, LoadRunner.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures to ensure information systems meet standards.
• Develop test plans, schedules, and approaches.
• Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios.
• Conduct walkthroughs with Test Managers and Leads.
• Perform and lead tests to ensure proper operation and defect-free software.
• Document and communicate test results and progress to management.
• Mentor junior testers and contribute to process improvement.
• Create daily test metrics and reporting.
