Alt is building real-time pricing and liquidity for the $5B trading-card market. You will own the ledger, money movement, and reconciliation for a high-stakes payments system in a remote-first environment.

Your work ensures precise accounting across instant rails, ACH, and wires while supporting scalable settlement and risk controls. We seek backend-focused engineers with ledger experience, strong SQL, and a pragmatic approach to building reliable systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building backend systems with a focus on reliability and correctness.
• Experience with real money movement, ledgers, and reconciliation concepts.
• Strong SQL, data modeling, and transactional integrity under load.

Responsibilities

• Own the ledger as the system of record, including balances, holds, and reversals.
• Design and scale money movement rails: ACH, wires, instant payments, and settlement.
• Implement automated reconciliation and exception handling workflows.
• Develop robust APIs and event-driven integrations with partner systems.
• Lead architecture decisions and mentor teammates in code quality.
