Job summary

Vynca, a healthcare technology company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive development of scalable, secure healthcare solutions. You will lead technical direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve patient care through data-driven software.

The role is remote with Pacific Coast business hours; candidates in the US are welcome. Experience with event-driven architectures, Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, and real-time data pipelines is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• 5-7 years in software engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and Java, with experience in modern frameworks (Flask/FastAPI, Spring Boot).
• Mastery of event-driven architectures (Kafka, Kinesis), distributed systems, and cloud platforms (AWS, Kubernetes).
• Strong background in building scalable, real-time data pipelines (Kafka, Flink, Airflow) and hybrid batch/stream systems.
• Hands-on experience integrating and processing healthcare data standards: FHIR, CCDA, HL7 V2/V3, DICOM, etc.
• Database design (SQL, NoSQL, DynamoDB) and data warehousing (Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Demonstrated success in optimizing performance (latency, error rates) and reducing infrastructure costs (AWS).
• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills; ability to navigate ambiguity and drive consensus.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and lead the development of scalable, high-performance systems using event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
• Own end-to-end delivery of mission-critical products from concept to deployment.
• Design real-time data pipelines processing millions of records per second with low latency.
• Lead migration/modernization efforts and cloud-native solutions with AWS and Kubernetes.
• Partner with product managers to translate requirements into technical solutions and drive R&D initiatives.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and ensure team alignment.
