Job summary

Blue Shield Promise seeks an advanced Social Service Representative to provide telephonic social services support and resource referrals for members, with administrative duties for the Social Services Management Team. You will assess needs, coordinate care, and serve as first-line contact for calls, working in a hybrid virtual environment with occasional in-office needs.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or GED or 1 year of additional relevant experience in lieu of a diploma.
• Requires 5 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated 2 years of experience with Medi-Cal managed care including Cal MediConnect and Medicare.
• Applied broad knowledge of operational systems and practices gained through experience and/or education.
• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient skills with computer programs, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of health disparities in diverse communities.
• Effective time management skills and ability to define and act on priorities amid multiple responsibilities.
• Experience working with Medi-Cal populations preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.
