Job summary

Rex.zone is seeking a mid-to-senior robotics software engineer to design, build, and validate end-to-end autonomy features using ROS/ROS2. You will integrate sensors (LiDAR, cameras, IMUs), implement SLAM/localization, and tune controllers for real-world robotics.

The role involves development, testing in Gazebo/Ignition, field validation, and optimizing performance on edge hardware such as NVIDIA Jetson, with a focus on reliability around people and production readiness.

Qualifications

  • Strong C++ and Python for robotics applications.
  • Hands-on ROS/ROS2 development, integration, and debugging.
  • Knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, and control theory.
  • Experience with SLAM/localization and sensor fusion (EKF/UKF).
  • Familiarity with motion planning (sampling-based or optimization-based).
  • Comfort with Linux, Git, CI, and reproducible builds.

Responsibilities

  • Own robotics software modules from requirements through release and maintenance.
  • Develop ROS/ROS2 nodes, launch files, parameters, and message/service definitions.
  • Integrate perception and sensor fusion pipelines for reliable state estimation.
  • Implement motion planning and trajectory generation for dynamic environments.
  • Develop and tune control loops for mobile bases and/or mobile manipulators.
  • Build simulation scenarios and regression tests to reduce real-world failures.
  • Profile and optimize performance on edge platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson).
  • Conduct field testing and debugging using logs, rosbag, and telemetry.
  • Document interfaces, safety constraints, and operational procedures.
