Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking a senior Estimator with extensive reinforcing-steel experience to lead takeoffs, cost development, and detailing for large projects. The role emphasizes independent review of drawings, development of labor and material pricing, and fostering estimating standards across the team.

The successful candidate will influence preconstruction decisions, review bid documents, and collaborate with project management to ensure reliable cost and risk assessment for bids.

Qualifications

• 7+ years reinforcing-steel experience and strong estimating background.
• Experience estimating reinforcing steel for large commercial/industrial projects.
• Ability to read structural drawings and specifications; identify constructability issues.
• Knowledge of ACI/CRSI requirements and industry practices.
• Experience with detailing/placing drawings and RFIs related to reinforcing steel.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and at least one reinforcing-detailing software.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, equipment and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project conditions.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability concerns; identify risks.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and final estimates; support bid strategy.
• Mentor junior estimators and help lead department growth.
• Coordinate with project management and field teams to resolve issues.
