Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer (Edifecs) for a fully remote role supporting the Veterans Affairs department. The position requires a proven track record on complex software projects and extensive testing experience, including both manual and automated testing, with a strong SDLC/Agile background.

Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a Public Trust (MBI) clearance.

Qualifications

Proven track record on complex software projects.
Experience with both manual and automated testing.
Familiar with SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Proficiency in writing/executing test cases and plans.
Understanding of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
Experience with version control systems (Git/SVN).
Knowledge of security testing practices.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute test plans, cases, and procedures to ensure all information systems meet standards and user requirements.
Develop test schedules, approaches, and documentation.
Write test cases/scripts and identify data for test scenarios.
Conduct walkthroughs with Test Managers/Leads to review test artifacts.
Perform tests of software/IT systems to ensure proper operation and defects-free results.
Document and communicate test results; support issue resolution.
Create daily test metrics and reporting; contribute to test improvements.
Assist with other IT/system engineering activities as needed.
Translate business requirements into effective test scenarios.
