Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer (Edifecs) for a fully remote role supporting the Veterans Affairs department. The position requires strong EDIFECS experience and a track record of delivering high-quality software projects with automated and manual testing.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of professional experience, familiarity with CI/CD tools, and a deep understanding of Agile/Scrum and SDLC.

Qualifications

• Experience with EDIFECs EDI transactions and X12 workflows.
• Proven ability to design and execute test plans and scripts.
• Strong knowledge of Agile development and SDLC.
• Experience writing and executing test cases and data for tests.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
• Experience with JIRA and Bugzilla or similar defect tracking tools.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter/Gatling).
• Understanding of testing types: functional, integration, regression, UAT.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans and test cases to ensure IT systems meet requirements.
• Create test schedules and approaches; document test results and metrics.
• Lead tests of software and IT systems for defects and quality.
• Collaborate with managers and developers to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Provide technical solutions to complex problems and document outcomes.
