AES Corporation seeks a Principal Engineer – Utility Projects to lead the design and engineering of large utility-scale PV and battery storage projects across late-stage development, construction and operation. You will manage third‑party engineers, review designs, and develop contract documents, procurement specs and execution support, with up to 25% travel.

The role requires deep experience in transmission‑connected PV and BESS, strong communication, and mentoring abilities.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or civil preferred) or equivalent technical field.
• 10+ years professional experience in energy system design, project or land development, and/or construction.
• 5+ years of experience in project management, consulting, or as a project engineer.
• Direct project experience with Procore.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Responsabilités

• Support EPC engagement by preparing contract exhibits and supporting RFIs during contract negotiations.
• Manage engineering consultants and EPC contractors through development of project construction drawings and support materials.
• Perform technical project due diligence and design reviews to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
• Lead external and internal design review meetings.
• Value engineer system designs to maximize reliability and reduce project cost.
• Coordinate feedback from stakeholders on design reviews.
