Job summary
The AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for Mega and M&A Engineering to lead design and engineering of utility-scale solar PV and energy storage projects through development and construction. You will guide engineering activities, perform energy modeling, and coordinate with EPC, procurement, and field teams.
Strong background in utility-scale PV/BESS, design optimization, and technical leadership across multiple projects is required.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in solar PV system design, development, construction, and analysis preferred.
- Proficiency in PV system design, NEC design requirements, and protective sizing.
- Experience with medium voltage collector system design.
- Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support design development across the full project lifecycle.
- Provide technical input for EPC pricing estimates, RFPs, and due diligence.
- Manage engineering teams and vendor/consultant relationships.
- Develop and implement design standards and roadmaps for multiple projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with distributed/remote teams.
- Support commissioning, QA/QC, and field punch list activities.
