Job summary

AES Corporation, a leading energy company, seeks a Senior Project Engineer for the Mega and M&A Engineering team to design and engineer utility-scale solar PV and energy storage projects through development and construction. You will lead engineering across the full lifecycle, support EPC pricing estimates, permitting, and due diligence for M&A projects.

A strong PV/BESS background and leadership are essential, with collaboration across distributed teams and up to 25% travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional experience in solar PV design, development, construction, and analysis.
• Proficiency in PV design, NEC design requirements, and electrical code concepts.
• Experience with medium voltage collector system design.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with MS Office; able to coordinate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform full technical due diligence and risk assessment for M&A projects.
• Full project design evaluation to identify red flags and optimize layouts.
• Redesign and update layouts, energy production estimates, EPC cost estimates, and equipment selections.
• Coordinate with M&A developers to complete RFP responses and procurement docs.
• Develop and manage technical contract exhibits and support engineering teams.
