Job summary

Fieldwire by Hilti is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own the design, deployment, and reliability of our cloud production systems. You will lead infrastructure improvements, mentor engineers, and collaborate with teams to scale a secure platform that powers Fieldwire customers on job sites.

The role emphasizes building automated tooling, incident response, observability, and a strong IaC discipline. Remote US-based candidates are welcome, with a focus on scalable, secure cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 5-7 years of experience as Platform/DevOps/SRE with ownership of production systems.
• Proficiency in at least one language (Go, Java, Python, Ruby, Rust).
• Experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD at scale.
• Deep experience with Docker in production.
• Experience leading on-call rotations and incident management.
• Strong Infra-as-Code skills (AWS CDK or Terraform).
• Ability to mentor engineers and influence cross-team decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own health, scalability, and security of production infrastructure.
• Design, build, and automate the Software Development Lifecycle and Infrastructure.
• Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and preventative measures.
• Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability systems.
• Mentor engineers on infrastructure best practices and secure design.
• Drive tooling improvements to increase development velocity and reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotation and change management.
